Obviously, a lot has happened in the past year since I posted last. I'm STILL working 2 jobs. :( But oh well, gotta make money. STILL looking for a man. ha ha. Tae is doing SO good in school. She loves it, loves learning, loves her friends, loves her teacher. It sure makes mornings easy :)
Hmm... well I don't remember what all has happened in the past year, so I'll go off the most recent. The weather is finally getting slightly warm, so we went on a hike last weekend (didn't take a camera :( ), then came home and colored eggs (i'll have to steal pics from Des) then on Easter Sunday we went down on the blue and had a picnic, had the egg hunt, and birthday cake for Mom. It was SUCH a nice weekend. It made me feel so good to get outside and get a little fresh air and sunshine. It just lifted my spirits like you wouldn't believe. Oh, and Taelynn lost her first tooth!!! :) She's so stinking cute.
Well... gotta get back to work. hopefully I'll do better about posting this year. Des is pretty angry with me. ha ha.
Peace.Tess-N-Taehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11971980975311873949noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4132525416596703114.post-15523518627554863292009-05-04T15:48:00.000-07:002009-05-04T16:29:31.096-07:00Does she have to grow up??My little baby is turning 5 this week. It makes me so sad that she is growing up so fast. She is such a good girl, and definitely makes being a single mom pretty easy. We will be out of town on her birthday, so we had her party on Friday the 1st. Here are a few pictures.

Isn't the cake so cute! So... oh, and this may be long.

Easter was...fun... Des, Ganon, and Adison came over and colored eggs on Saturday before Easter...Adison is a freaking mess. She was sticking her fingers in the dye, then sucking the vinigar water off. YUCK! Then she would take an already dyed egg and toss it in another color. Then throw eggs on the floor...yeah, it was interesting. Oh, then she decided to pee on my floor. Good thing I have wood floors.
Of course it was cold Easter day. After church we had a yummy dinner at my mom's then hid eggs for the kids. Apparently Des has all the pictures from that day. Sorry. It was fun though. Here are a few of Tae in her Easter dress and the Barbie that the Easter Bunny brought her.

Last week I took Tae and her friend Kayla to the park to ride their scooters. It was pretty cool...but of course I forgot a camera! :( I bought a disposable, but the pictures just aren't good. I think the best part of the zoo was feeding the giraffes! The kids really enjoyed that. The weather was perfect! I think if we had waited any longer it would have been too hot.

The little baby girraffe was so cute...it was trying so hard to reach all the little hands holding out food, but he just couldn't reach. I've lost 14 pounds now! I'm super excited. I feel so much better in so many ways. It's great. I've got a way to go, but I'm trying to just think about it a few pounds at a time.
Tae is doing well. She's so funny. I wish I would remember to write everything down that makes me laugh. She's been asking about her brown skin lately. I've always told her how beautiful her brown skin is, but lately she's been comparing hers to mine. Well, she's also been asking about her dad. So, I told her she got brown skin because her dad's skin is black and when it mixed with my skin, it made hers brown. Well, I don't really think she understood what black skin was, so I found a picture of her dad and pointed out the difference between his color and mine. Well, my mom was watching her later that day and Tae said something about her being half black and half white to my mom. Then she got a little confused and held out her arms and said "Grandma, which half is black, and which half is white?" LOL - oh my goodness, I got a kick out of that when my mom told me. I'm trying to make her aware of things now because I just don't know how kids will react when she gets to school. I think there are enough "mixed" children now that nothing will be said, but I don't want it to catch her off guard.

Another exciting update - I was able to go through the temple yesterday to receive my endowments. It was such an amazing experience. It was overwhelming at times but I can't wait to go again and often so I can understand it better. My mom, Aunt Jennifer and Aunt Marcella went with me. It was so nice to have their support. Jennifer took some pictures that I will try to get on here soon.

OH - and our cat had 3 kittens...anybody want one?????Tess-N-Taehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11971980975311873949noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4132525416596703114.post-80593217612576516732009-03-03T18:09:00.000-08:002009-03-03T18:37:43.916-08:00My GoalsSo my mom and I decided that enough is enough and we started going to the Wellness Center at the hospital here. This is our third week there, going at least 3 times a week. It's so much easier with a partner. We walk a mile on the treadmill then lift for 1/2 an hour. Anyway, I have dropped 6 pounds since we started. I'm SO excited. I've got many more to go, but seeing results this quickly is such motivation. Anyway, just wanted to get the word out :) Somehow it makes me feel more responsible and I'll stick to it.
Taelynn gets on my scale at home daily and asks how tall she is. LOL - doesn't matter how many times I tell her that the scale measures her weight not her height...she still asks. She's a crazy kid.

I am SO ready for spring! It's been very warm the past few days. I haven't built a fire in almost two weeks. I am ready for warm weather...but I am DREADING the freaking wind.

That's it for now...Peace :)Tess-N-Taehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11971980975311873949noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4132525416596703114.post-85762214403423841122009-02-12T09:47:00.000-08:002009-02-12T09:52:11.635-08:00For the record...i HATE Valentines Day. Dad, Jace, Des, and I put a roof on my parents house last weekend...that was interesting. :) Lots of hard work...but I'm glad I was able to help.
I went to Phoenix last week for 3 days for training for my job. I have been asking for this training for over 4 years and FINALLY got it. I'm so happy!
Let's see...Tae is doing well. She's a little brat some days, but what 4 year old isn't.
I wish I had something more interesting to tell about...but I don't.
Untill next month....buh-bye. So here's an update.
Things are going well here. Taelynn is doing good. She's so tall it's crazy. I think she will outgrow me in less than 3 yrs. She is a very girly girl. I NEVER thought I would have a prissy girl because I am so not that way. Very much into pretty hair, and nail polish, eye shadow, and ANYTHING sparkley.
She started her new class in church last week. Before we went I was telling her that she wouldn't have Sister Finch as her teacher anymore. She asked why so I told her that every year she will switch teachers and go with the older class. She got really sad and said "mom, does that mean I'm not a child of God anymore?" LOL - i don't think the move was as bad as she thought it might be. She LOVED Sister Finch, but now Aunt Jennifer is her teacher, so she's o.k. :)

I am doing well. Working WAY too much, but it's got to be done. Hopefully not much longer though.

Well, I think that's about it.Tess-N-Taehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11971980975311873949noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4132525416596703114.post-25564525083983024482008-12-19T07:37:00.001-08:002008-12-19T21:28:25.179-08:00Tae's Christmas songsTaelynn is such a goofy kid. The other day she told me that she had a new Christmas song for me to listen to. Then she says it's a "little bit of Jingle Bells and a little bit if Rudolph." Well, I have no idea where Jingle Bells came into the song. But she went on singing for at least 5 minutes about Rudolph. It went a little something like this..."Then one foggy Christmas day Santa came to Rudolph and asked him to pull his sleigh. Rudolph said No Santa, I can't do it. Santa said Yes you can Rudolph. I need your bright nose. Rudolph said But Santa, I am too chubby and can't fly...I will bonk into the trees. Santa said No Rudolph, you won't. You can do it." LOL there was so much more to the song, but it was all about a fat Rudolph and Santa trying to convince him that he could fly and wouldn't "bonk" into the trees. OH my goodness! I wish I had the video camera out. I wanted to go grab it, but i knew she would stop singing if i got up.
I just love this age. She is so funny. She is good about playing by herself and having conversations with whatever she is playing with. Those conversations get pretty interesting.
Anyway, just wanted to share Tae's interesting Santa song. :)

OH - one more little story. She was in the bath the other day and she had a tall cup with a washcloth draped over it, then had a smaller cup and was pouring water from the small cup into the big cup. Well, she told me it was my birthday present, so I asked what it was. She said it was a lava lamp. I asked her what she knew about lava lamps and she said "Well, it's Chinese speak for lamp. English speak is just lamp, but Chinese speak is lava lamp." LOL - she is so random!!!Tess-N-Taehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11971980975311873949noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4132525416596703114.post-4009462169480306012008-12-08T12:26:00.000-08:002008-12-08T12:36:56.883-08:00Picturessorry it's taken me a while..but here are some pictures of the elk. Yes...i look like hell. But who cares what they look like while hunting? Anyway...in the picture of my dad and I standing next to the bull, there is a hill behind me...that's where I shot from. About 250 yards. And sorry about the tongue hanging from his mouth. I'm apologizing now because apparently some people find it mean. I've had 2 comments from people looking at the pics say something about it. Like it's more mean to have the tongue stick out than to actually have shot the elk...??? not sure why they got upset. :)
I think if you click on the pictures you might be able to see them better.

Tess-N-Taehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11971980975311873949noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4132525416596703114.post-44581355279558957242008-12-02T16:46:00.000-08:002008-12-02T18:57:43.692-08:00THE HUNT!!!!!!!!Let me start off by saying this is the first time I have ever put in for a hunt, so it was the first tag I have ever had. Needless to say, my dad was thrilled that I drew a bull elk tag and he got...nothing! :) I think I found out around March(?) that I got the tag and my hunt didn't start until the day after Thanksgiving. So it was a looonnnggg time inbetween. So, the first day of the hunt we went up to Pat Knoll where a huge bull was supposed to be. It barely got light and we hear 7 shots go off not even 100 yards from us. We seriously thought the shots were directed to the truck. So we left that area afraid for our lives. :) We went around to the Big Lake highway and didn't see anything. So we went back to Pat Knoll. Oh, my cousin Michael was with us. So, my dad and I decide to go walking and let Michael pick us up somewhere. We start up this hill in the snow and cross a blood trail. So we follow it for a while and the whole time I am thinking we are going to see this bull at any time. Well, we stopped to mark where we were on the GPS and I hear something behind me, so I turn around and see Todd Workman and I'm assuming his 2 boys. HOLY CRAP they scared me!!! It turns out it was their bull that we had been tracking. So we let them take over and my dad and I went another way. We didn't see anything else the rest of that day. :(
This is a picture of one spot on Pat Knoll on Friday...it was absolutely beautful up there with all the snow.

The 2nd day of the hunt we went down past Milligan Valley and took about a 4 mile walk and saw a couple little bulls and spikes, but nothing that I was going to take on the 2nd day. So we were on our way back to town when my cousin Justin called my dad and Michael and told us to hurry to town because he and Jeremy had seen 6 big bulls. So we haul butt back to town, pick up Jeremy and Justin, and go to Flat Top. We went up this hill (that about killed me!!!) and glassed for a while and didn't see anything. Jeremy and Justin were positive that the bulls would be there, so they went back to town to go to the other side of the mountain to push the bulls my way. Well, long story short (kind of) we met up with Justin, and then Michael called us on the radio saying he saw 3 big bulls and they were on the other side of the mountain. So we somehow make it down the rockiest part of the mountain in like 2 minutes. We come up on this ridge and I see the bulls. I pull the gun up (and the gun is much bigger than the one I had been practicing with so that makes me even more nervous!) and it takes me a minute to get the bull in the scope. By that time, he had moved and I couldn't get a good shot. So we start running again. This time, we come up on 3 bulls!!! All 3 looking at me and I have a clear shot at any of them. So I shoot at the first in line, which is the biggest...and I miss and he walked off!!! :( So, I reload, can't find the first bull, get my scope on the second one, squeeze the trigger and the bull DROPPED!!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy CRAP!!! that was seriously the biggest rush I have EVER had in my life! It was so cool! I was so excited that I freaking started crying. LOL. But Justin was right there, so I had to stop. :)

I will get pictures up soon. My dad says it scores around 320. He was a 6 x 6 but the 5th is broken on one side. But we took it to get mounted and they will fix that for me. Anyway...long story. sorry. I will post pictures of him soon. :)
Tess-N-Taehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11971980975311873949noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4132525416596703114.post-55530803248340196082008-12-02T16:16:00.000-08:002008-12-02T16:46:10.547-08:00South ForkToday is the day of 2 posts...because it's been a while. A couple weekends ago, Des and I took Ganon and Taelynn on a hike in South Fork. I'm not sure how far we walked, but the kids had fun. It was so pretty so we got a few pictures. Ganon found a stick that he thought would be a good deer, so he and Tae both had to put it on their head to be a deer...goofy kids.

We went on the hike to get me a little more prepared for my elk hunt...which will be my next post. :)

Tess-N-Taehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11971980975311873949noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4132525416596703114.post-11170646302308277442008-11-13T18:19:00.000-08:002008-11-13T18:47:55.617-08:00ThankfulIt's time for a new post. Since it's getting close to Thanksgiving, which is one of my favorite holidays, I thought it would be nice to list all that I am thankful for.
1. I am so thankful for my family. They do so much for me and I can never thank them all enough for it.
2. I am thankful for my job(s). I love that I can work from home every day.
3. I am thankful for my home. I take for granted how blessed I am to be able to afford my own home at a young age. I am thankful for the comfort and safety in my home.
4. I am thankful for the Church and the peace that it brings in my life.
5. I am thankful for my freedom. I am so grateful to those who have fought for my freedom, and I also cannot thank them enough for it.
6. I am thankful for music! It keeps me sane.
7. I am thankful for my friends. They are the best.
8. I guess I am thankful for my crazy sister. My life would definetely be boring without her.
9. I am thankful for my brother and his choice to serve a mission and the blessings that it brings to our lives. She had thrush and couldn't eat for 5 days! It was sad to see.

For Halloween she was a "kitten" I guess. Des and I made the girls tutu's for their costumes. They turned out cute, but Tae's got all crinkled up by the end of the night. She is feeling better and definitely enjoying the candy now.

Tess-N-Taehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11971980975311873949noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4132525416596703114.post-70826808946749433682008-11-04T11:49:00.000-08:002008-11-04T11:50:57.105-08:00Just LearningSo I am just getting started with the whole blog thing.
